Dear Members of KDI School,

As the Lunar New Year holiday passes, the spread of the Omicron variant of the coronavirus is rising without hesitation.

Therefore, the Korean government decided to extend the current social distancing rule by two more weeks until the 20th.

Also, goverment started to limit the COVID-19 PCR Testing System from Feb 3, 2022

<Distancing rules to be extended for two more weeks>

1. Date and PeriodUntil Sunday, February 20, 2022

2. Private Gatherings Restriction: Up to six(6) people *nationwide*

※ Non-vaccinated people can use restaurants and cafes only alone.

※ 9 p.m. curfews for restaurants, cafes and bars will continue.

3. Multi-use facilities without mandatory vaccine pass system:

- Retail stores, shopping marts, department stores (larger than 300㎡)

- Libraries, movie theaters, museums and art galleries

* Since there are still many multi-use facilities operating the mandatory vaccine pass system, you must present your valid vaccination certificate or application, such as Coov, Naver, or Kakao, to enter.

<Limited COVID-19 PCR Testing System>

The Korean government has adopted a new COVID-19 testing policy, which gives priority access to polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests to high-risk groups.

Starting on February 3, 2022, people, except those classified as a priority for PCR testing, will get a rapid antigen test (RAT) at community health centers and temporary COVID-19 screening station. If they test positive they will then be able to take a PCR test.

PCR tests which were originally offered at community health centers and temporary COVID-19 screening stations free of charge to anyone, will be limited to those who fall under the following categories:

  • Those in their 60s or older
  • Those epidemiologically related to the COVID-19 patient (including those who have been in close contact with confirmed patients, those who are set to end their quarantine isolation period, overseas entrants)
  • Those with COVID-19 symptoms (a doctor’s note or hospital record is required)
  • Those working at facilities particularly vulnerable to COVID-19
  • Those who tested positive on a rapid antigen test

     * subject to change

     * need to bring the documentary evidence

- IMPORTANT!) A place where you can receive a rapid antigen test (RAT) near KDI School
