Minsung Michael Kang is an assistant professor of Public Administration at KDI School of Public Policy and Management. His scholarly contribution can be succinctly summarized with one phrase: “Democratic Bureaucracy.”

Michael Kang’s research pursuits in Public Administration and Policy span a diverse spectrum, encompassing public management, civil service systems, citizen-state interactions, anti-corruption governance, and the intricate domain of ethics management. His academic achievement has received marked scholarly recognition with honors as the NASPAA STAATS Emerging Scholar Award, American Society of Political Science (APSA) Paul Volcker Scholar Award, American Society of Public Administration (ASPA) Founders’ Fellowship, and National Research Council (NRC) Korea’s Emerging Scholar Recognition.
