Lee, Seohyun

Applied macroeconomics/Econometrics

Dr. Seohyun Lee is an Assistant Professor at KDI School of Public Policy and Management with a Ph.D. in Economics from University College London (UCL). She holds a master’s degree from London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and a BA in Economics from Seoul National University with summa cum laude. Her research interests include the application of various time series and panel data as well as unstructured non-traditional data to econometrics and machine learning models to understand a broad range of macroeconomic and financial issues. Dr. Lee’s research has been published in Journal of Banking and Finance, Oxford Bulletin of Economics and Statistics, among others. Prior to her academic career, she worked at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the Bank of Korea. Leveraging her expertise, Dr. Lee actively engages with policy works providing evidence-based policy recommendations for various countries, including South Korea’s ODA program with Oman and Bulgaria. Currently, Dr. Lee teaches Macroeconomics (PhD), Time Series Econometrics (PhD) and Digitalization and Public Policy Problems (Master).
