Innovation and Knowledge economy/Labor/Development

Chungeun Yoon is an economist who has made contributions to the field of labor and development. His research interests focus on the causal relationship between labor supply and innovation, particularly as it relates to knowledge spillovers, immigration, migration, and ethnic diversity. He received my Ph.D. from the University of Notre Dame. He earned a M.A. from Georgia State University, and a B.A. from Seoul National University. Before joining academia, he worked for four years with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), the South Korean government’s foreign assistance agency, and spent two years in Cambodia. These experiences have motivated him to investigate empirical evidence from economic history and historical events such as the Killing Fields, World War I, the Immigration Quota Acts, the Civil War.
