On July 2, 2008, KDI School brought members of Diplomatic Community and Multinational Corporations together for a special lecture by Dr. Moon Joong Tcha. Dr. Tcha is the Vice-President and Director of the Department of Industrial and Corporate Affairs of Korea Development Institute. “Korea, Writing another Chapter on the Miracle” was the title of the lecture. After welcoming remarks from the Dean Sang-Moon Hahm and a brief introduction of the KDI School by  Associate Dean, Tae-Jong Kim, the lecture started.

Starting with an introduction of Korea’s rapid economic growth in the late 20^th century, the lecture covered the main factors of such a phenomenal economic growth and its consequences. It was concluded with a description of the current challenges the nation is facing and efforts it is making to overcome them in order to achieve a long-term growth.
