From November 13 to 28, the Center for Economic Cooperation hosted the “Economic Development Strategy for the CIS Countries” Program. The program sought to achieve three objectives. The first was to enhance the evaluation skills of the participants in order to help them plan economic development strategies of their own countries. The second was to introduce success and failure cases including the economy management strategies implemented during the Financial Crisis in Korea.
The program covered a wide range of topics such as Korea''s economic development experience, multinational organizations and their financial support to developing countries, industrialization strategies behind Korea''s rapid economic development, and international free trade and the WTO.
The Program, in addition, provided the participants with an opportunity to go on fieldtrips and study visits to Busan, Jinhea Free Economic Zone, POSCO, Hyundai Motors, Hyundai Heavy Industry, Korea Development Institute (KDI), Bank of Korea , and Saemaul Undong Central Training Institute.
