Spring is a season of new beginnings where leaves start to grow and flowers start to bloom. To celebrate the new beginnings, KDI School held the Spring Hiking 2019. This event is one of the biggest events in KDI School. More than 200 students, faculty member, and school staff participated. Held on KDIS community went to Bomun Mountain located in Daejeon City to enjoy the fresh air and beautiful scenery on April 12th.

Upon arrival, KDIS was greeted with the full bloom of cherry blossom trees around the area and many were fascinated by the view. It took one hour and a half to reach the summit of Bomun Mountain. However, students still enjoyed the hike as they started to mingle not only with fellow students but also with professors and staffs Arriving at the peak, KDIS chocolate medals were given by Academic Affairs. All KDIS families had great time at peak with wonderful view of Daejeon City.

Widi (2019 MDP) said “As my first experience to hike with lots of people, I can feel the excitement and togetherness even more as we were wearing the same sweatshirts. There were no differences among students, faculty members, and staffs. The sweatshirt with “KDISCHOOL” motivated us to walk together and to care for others.” Other students also said that it gives a lot of meanings when we as KDIS community have a good time at the mountain top together.

People go to nature to be soothed, healed, and to hike together it helps to create a sense of community. Spring Hiking 2019 was a great chance for KDIS community to take break and refresh from all the hustles and bond with others.
