Title: Assessing Charging Trends of Korean Electric Vehicle Owners

Our study marks a significant advancement in the field of electric vehicle (EV) charging behavioral research, particularly in the Korean context. The utilization percentage of charging points can be a surprisingly simple yet effective way of evaluating the EV charging infrastructure at different levels. Here, we demonstrate the functional usefulness of this percentage to reveal EV charging trends and patterns and also to reveal areas of potential concern for Korea’s future EV growth. The lack of similar research underscores the novelty and necessity of our work. By providing an empirical analysis, our study not only fills a critical gap in the existing literature but also serves as a solid reference for future infrastructure planning, both within Korea and internationally. Our findings may be particularly relevant for countries with emerging EV markets, offering valuable insights to assist in developing strategies to implement efficient and effective charging networks.
