Prof. Yeong Jae Kim’s coauthored research, “The Energy Impacts of Green Remodeling: Evidence from the Building Sector,” was presented at the JEMIOW × J-TREE Joint Workshop 2026, held on July 11 at the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS) in Tokyo, Japan.
The paper, coauthored by Prof. Kim and Mr. Sangwoo Han, a 2025 graduate of the Master of Public Policy (MPP) program, examines the energy impacts of green remodeling in the building sector. Mr. Han presented the joint research at the workshop, sharing their findings with researchers in the fields of environmental, energy, and industrial economics.
The workshop was jointly organized by the Japan Empirical Industrial Organization Workshop (JEMIOW) and J-TREE, Japan’s research community for environmental and resource economics. It brought together researchers from institutions including AIST, Waseda University, Hitotsubashi University, Kyoto University, and the Toulouse School of Economics, with sessions covering topics such as energy information provision, building energy codes, consumer search in fuel markets, and vaccine uptake.
