2017 Fall KOICA-MDI Scholarship Ph.D. program for Myanmar applicants

KOICA-MDI program is designed to produce researchers for the Myanmar Development Institute (MDI) which officially launched on Jan 15, 2016 in Nay Pyi Taw. Successful applicants will be awarded with full tuition and monthly stipend, and should work at MDI upon graduation.

  • Program Duration:
    • Doctoral Program(DP/PP): 3 years
  • Benefits : Full tuition, monthly stipend, round-trip airfare(Myanmar-Korea)
  • Applicant Qualification :
    • Citizenship of Myanmar
    • Master’s degree in fields relevant to public policy, economics or others
    •  Strong oral and written English language skills,
  • Conditions of Scholarship: Recipients are liable to work for MDI* for at least 3 years after graduation
    • MDI will provide highly competitive salary, equivalent to local consultants’ in the international organizations.
    • Myanmar Development Institute (MDI) is the national policy think tank established in 2015. The MDI would serve as a “whole of government” national policy institute contributing to strengthening the evidence-based economic and social policy making process by leading comprehensive research and advisory and related capacity-building activities. 
  • Application Period: from March 27th  to May 26th   
    • After you had completed your online application(apply.kdischool.ac.kr), please send your original required documents directly to KDI School
