On February 22nd, 2024, the Consulate of the Republic of Korea hosted a seminar focused on strategies for the economic development of the Kurdistan Region. The event brought together esteemed guests, including Dr. Kaith Sharp, President of the University of Kurdistan Hawler (UKH), and representatives from the KOICA Erbil Office. However, it wasn't just them in attendance; our Iraqi KDI School Alumni were also present, and we extend our hearfelt gratitude to Consul General Lim Seungcheol (2004 MPP) for making this reunion possible!

During the forum, Dr. Arshad Taha, Senior Economic Advisor to the Kurdistan Parliament, presented his insights and visions for the establishment of the Kurdistan Development Institute (KDI) in the Kurdistan Region and outlined the way forward. Our alumni, who were also familiar with the KDI name, actively participated in discussions aimed at enhancing cooperation by developing an alumni association.

We stand ready to embrace the potential for the Kurdistan Region, the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), and the Republic of Korea to forge a path of synergy and cooperation, igniting a spark that leads to prosperity and economic development.
