On September 24th, “Open House for 2012 Admissions” was held at the Lincoln Hall to give an in-person introduction of the KDI School to prospective students. While professors presented academic programs of the School in a formal way, current students were there to help the visitors ask more casual and practical questions. More than 120 guests came to visit, which included not only Koreans but also international students. The event offered the prospective students the chance to familiarize themselves with the admissions process as well as the general school system, giving them a taste of the KDI School community.

Natasa Vujovic (2011 MPP, Serbia), who was one of the hosting students, said “I cannot believe that almost a year has passed. The time I submitted the application last year is still fresh in my memory, yet I’m standing here to talk about the last 10 months spent in Korea. I have participated in the Open House to give visitors a hint of what to expect at the KDI School, the experience found nowhere else.”

The high satisfaction level shown in the post-event evaluation tells that the day provided a successful introduction of the School. “I was impressed by not only international studying environment but well-designed academic programs. Faculty members and students are so nice and kind that I could ask all the questions I’ve been meaning to ask about the KDI School,” one of the comments said.

Open House is one of the off-line channels that promote the KDI School programs to the general public. The External Relations and Development Division who arranges the event every year said that they will develop more number of different ways to communicate with prospective students either online or face to face.
