A typical weekday begins around 6.30 a.m. with a morning jog. This is followed by a warm shower and a hearty breakfast. This self-care routine means that I’m fully refreshed and raring to go for the first half of my day. Since my first class is scheduled at 10:20 a.m., I’ve got some time to do some laundry first or finish up an assignment that’s due shortly. Or I might choose to add the final polish to a slide deck that I’ll be presenting the next day. In between I’ll check my emails and then browse through the KDIS’ News Center to see what’s new.

I will join a class at 10:20, then meet my friends later for lunch at the student cafeteria. Straight after, I’ll take a stroll by myself around the soccer field which gives me a chance to clear my mind.

My phone might beep to remind me of my scheduled 1:30 p.m. appointment with my thesis Supervisor. Scrolling through my phone, I’ll also note that at 5:00 p.m. I’ll be off to meet the rest of my group members to finalize the detail on our group project. I’ll then catch-up with my Professor, who will offer me some invaluable insights on my paper. The meeting will then be followed by a class at 2:30 p.m.

Before the 5:00 p.m. group meeting, I’ll pass by Coffee Vobiscum – one of my favorite stop-offs - to grab a cup of lemon tea. Fast forward, I’ll then join the boys for football practice. Later, I’ll be off for dinner at the cafeteria, before heading back to the library to do some reading or work on my outstanding assignments. Once back in my room, I’ll watch a movie, read a novel and then make a call home to check in with everyone before drifting off to slumberland.
