KDI School offers diverse work opportunities that allow students to gain valuable experience while earning income during their studies. These positions include Teaching Assistant (TA), Class Assistant (CA), Dormitory Assistant (DA), Student Reporters and Ambassadors, Research Assistant (RA), Writing Center Consultant, and Data Analysis Support Center (DAS) Tutor roles. Through interviews with current student workers, it's clear these positions offer more than just financial benefits.

Richard Kabutey, a Teaching Assistant, discovered his position through EKDIS, the school's communication system. He emphasizes how the role has enhanced his interpersonal skills and teaching abilities: "The most rewarding part is seeing a student's face light up when they understand a difficult concept."

Class Assistant Vira Vyshnevska highlights the manageable workload of her position. "It's designed in a way that allows us to fulfill our duties without interfering too much with our studies," she explains. The role has helped her achieve financial independence while improving her organizational and problem-solving skills.

Emmanuel Kofi Seyram Abotsi serves as a Dormitory Assistant, a position he learned about through the Student Affairs Office. For him, the role's value extends beyond the room fee waivers and financial benefits: "What I enjoy most is the opportunity to interact with students from various cultural backgrounds and contribute to a welcoming environment." Emmanuel particularly values the chance to support new residents, just as he was supported when he first arrived at KDIS.

Student reporters like Faith Anzaku contribute to the school's website and The Globe publication. Faith appreciates how the position allows her to combine her love for storytelling with campus involvement. "The best part is meeting new people and hearing their stories," she shares. The role provides both a stipend for daily expenses and valuable skills in writing, research, and interviewing.

Dania Parrales, a KDI School Ambassador, emphasizes how her role has enhanced her communication skills and pushed her out of her comfort zone: "It allows me to connect more deeply with the KDIS community - not just with students, but also with staff and professors."

All interviewed students agree that balancing these positions with academic commitments requires effective time management, but the school design these roles to be compatible with full-time study. The positions typically offer payment at the end of each semester, providing crucial financial support for living expenses and personal needs.

These work opportunities at KDI School serve multiple purposes: they provide financial support, develop professional skills, and create deeper connections within the school community. Whether it is helping peers understand complex concepts as a TA, ensuring smooth classroom operations as a CA, creating a welcoming dormitory environment as a DA, sharing campus stories as a student reporter, or representing the school as an ambassador, each role contributes to both personal growth and the broader KDIS community.

For students interested in these positions, announcements are regularly shared through the school's email system and EKDIS platform. These roles not only offer valuable work experience and financial benefits but also enhance the overall educational experience at KDI School.
