Lee, Seohyun MPP Chair

Applied macroeconomics/Econometrics
Dr. Seohyun Lee is an Associate Professor at KDI School of Public Policy and Management. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from University College London (UCL)and MSc from LSE and a BA from Seoul National University (summa cum laude).
Prior to academia, she held positions at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the Bank of Korea. She recently served as an Adjunct Research Fellow in the Office of Macroeconomic Analysis and Forecasting at KDI.
Dr. Lee’s research bridges econometrics, machine learning, and macro-finance to study how data and policy interact in shaping financial and economic outcomes. Her work is published in leading journals, including the Journal of Banking and Finance and Oxford Bulletin of Economics and Statistics. Her work is published in leading journals, including the Journal of Banking and Finance and Oxford Bulletin of Economics and Statistics. Beyond her research, she provides evidence-based policy projects for South Korea’s Official Development Assistance (ODA) programs globally. At KDI School, she teaches PhD-level Macroeconomics and Time Series Econometrics, alongside courses on Digitalization and Public Policy.
