Preliminary Notice for evening MBA, MFDI and MAM Student of Year 2006

Dear evening MBA, MFDI, MAM Students of year 2006,

We are pleased that you have chosen the KDI School of Public Policy and Management. To help you prepare for the academic year, we will provide two kinds of preliminary courses during the Preliminary Term.

The courses for evening MBA, MFDI and MAM students will be offered during evening time and weekends. Please refer to the following detailed information.

□ Preliminary Term: Jan. 9, 2006 ~ Jan. 26, 2006

1. Level Test: Jan. 9, 2006
2. English Class: Jan.12, Jan.14, Jan.19, Jan. 21 (Four times)
* Please refer to the attached file ''Detailed Preliminary Term Schedule''
* Students who do not get a waiver from the test are required to attend English Course.


□ Preliminary Term Orientation & English Level Test

1. Date & Time: Jan. 9, 7:00 pm
2. Venue: Lincoln Hall(#9708), 7th Floor, KDI School
3. Schedule
- 7:00 - 7:10 Distribution of Orientation Package & Tea Time
- 7:10 - 7:30 Orientation for Winter Preliminary Term
- 7:30 - 9:00 English Placement Test : Oral Test

* Students who are unable to participate in the English Level Test or the Preliminary Term must let me know via e-mail as soon as possible. (We will continue to deliver notices to admitted students via email. Please be sure to provide us with the email address at which we can reach you from now until the beginning of the academic years.)


□ Preliminary Courses

1. English Course: Students will be divided into attending classes, or getting a waiver, based on their performance on the English Level Test, Jan. 9th.
* Students who do not get a waiver from the test are required to attend English Course.

2. On-line Courses: ''Pre-MBA Course'' and ''Korea''s Economic Development and Economic Crisis Management''

□ Course Guide

1. English Course

There will be Preliminary Term Orientation and English Level Test on Jan. 9, 2006. As you may know, all students must complete 36 credits of regular courses, and complete an English course (or receive a waiver) for the master’s degree.
(Note: Students who receive a waiver for the English Level Test of the Preliminary term are exempt from taking an English course during the regular term.)

Students will be divided into appropriate level English classes based on their performance on the English Level Test, the results of which will be announced on Tuesday, Jan. 10.

2. Online Course

Before studying at the KDI School, you can take the online courses, which have been developed by the GDLN Division of the KDI School. We will provide two online courses -- ''Pre-MBA Course'' and ''Korea''s Economic Development and Economic Crisis Management'' -- both are free of charge.

(2) You can register for membership in ''LearningWorld.Net'' by Jan.6, 2006.
*** When registering for membership, use your KDI School '' student ID number '' as your ''Member ID.'' (Student''s ID ex) 200612345)
*** Education Period: From Jan. 9 to Feb. 28, 2006

(3) Once you have signed up for membership, you will be allowed to take one or both of the online courses beginning on January 9, 2006.
