Dear Students,

We are pleased that you have chosen the KDI School of Public Policy and Management.
To help you prepare for the academic year, we will provide three kinds of preliminary courses during the Preliminary Term. Please refer to the following detailed information.

□ Preliminary Term Orientation & English Level Test (for MPP, MBA(DAY) Program)
- Date & Time: Jan. 10, 9:00 am
- Venue: Lincoln Hall, 7th Floor, KDI School
- Schedule
A. Distribution of Orientation Package & Tea Time 9:00 - 9:30
B. Orientation for Winter Preliminary Term 9:30 - 9:45

C. English Placement Test : Oral Test 10:00 - 11:30

* Students who are unable to participate in the English Level Test or the Preliminary Term must let me know via e-mail as soon as possible. (We will continue to deliver notices to admitted students via e-mail. Please be sure to provide us with the e-mail address at which we can reach you from now until the beginning of the academic year.)

□ Preliminary Courses (for MPP, MBA (Day) Program)

1. English Course: Students will be divided into attending classes, or getting a waiver, based on their peformance on the English Level Test.
- Period : Jan. 10 ~ Feb. 4
* Jan. 10 : Oral Test
- Time : 10:00 ~ 15:00
2. IT Course: Learning to use Microsoft Power Point, Excel, etc.
- IT(Section A) : Jan. 12 ( Wed.), Jan. 14 ( Fri.), Jan. 19 ( Wed.) / 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm / Video Conference Room
- IT(Section B): Jan. 13 (Thu.), Jan. 17(Mon.), Jan. 21(Fri.) / 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm / Video Conference Room

Students who would like to register for an IT course should notify me via e-mail (kgshope@kdischool.ac.kr) by Jan. 7th, using the following format:
1) Name: (Ex.) HONG, Gil-Dong
2) Program: (Ex.) MPP
3) Course Choice: (Ex) IT ( SectionA or Section B)

3. OnLine Courses: ''Pre-MBA Course'' and ''Korea''s Economic Development and Economic Crisis Management''

□ Preliminary Courses (for MFDI, Evening MBA Program)

1. English Course: Two sections will be offered for Evening MBA and MFDI Students on every saturday. For students who would like to register for the course, please apply to me according to the following format via e-mail.
- Name : Hong Gil Dong
- Program : MFDI or Evening MBA
- Registering Course : English Section A or Section B
- email address : kgshope@kdischool

There is a limitation on course size. Thus if you would like to enroll in the course, please let me know by Jan. 11th. Course registration is done on a first-come first-serve basis and once a course is full you will not be able to register the course.

- English Course Section B :
* Time : 13:30~17:00

2. OnLine Courses: ''Pre-MBA Course'' and ''Korea''s Economic Development and Economic Crisis Management''

Before studying at the KDI School, you can take the online courses, which have been developed by the GDLN Division of the KDI School. We will provide two online courses -- ''Pre-MBA Course'' and ''Korea''s Economic Development and Economic Crisis Management'' -- both free of charge.
(1) To register for one of the courses, please visit the LearningWorld website:

(2) You can register for membership in ''LearningWorld.Net'' from Jan. 7th to Jan.10th.
*** When registering for membership, use your KDI School '' student ID number '' as your ''Member ID.''

(3) Once you have signed up for membership, you will be allowed to take one or both of the online courses beginning on January 12, 2005.
