Climate Change Adaptation

8-9 December 2020

Adapting to the impacts of climate change is the growing urgency. The Republic of Korea has been recognizing the importance of international cooperation for promoting and facilitating adaptation action around the world. In this regard, the Korea Adaptation Center for Climate Change (KACCC) of the Korea Environment Institute (KEI) has been organizing annual capacity building programs on climate change adaptation in partnership with the Ministry of Environment (MOE) of South Korea since 2010, intended for government officials from developing countries.

The training programs have been hosted jointly by the international organizations including the UN Environment Programme (UNEP), UN Development Programme (UNDP), and United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). More than 200 government officials have participated in the programs to enhance knowledge on climate change adaptation, strengthen capacity for the establishment of National Adaptation Plans (NAPs), and share the experiences in planning and implementing adaptation policies.
