[KDIS] 2025 Korea Field Research and Study (KFRS) Program

KDI School is pleased to announce the 2025 Korea Field Research and Study (KFRS) program, which will be held from Wednesday, May 14 to Friday, May 16, 2025.



Program Overview

 

The KFRS program offers a 3-day field study experience, providing the opportunity to directly engage with Korea’s past and present developments. Participants will visit industrial manufacturing sites to understand the foundation of the Korean economy and explore cultural heritage sites to experience Korea's rich historical legacy.

 

·  Dates: May 14 (Wed) – May 16 (Fri), 2025

·  Duration: 2 nights, 3 days

·  Locations: Pohang, Ulsan, Gyeongju & Gumi

·  Participation Fee: KRW 100,000

    Actual cost approx. KRW 700,000; accommodation, meals, and transportation covered by School

· Accommodation:

   - Ulsan: Twin room (2 people per room)

   - Gyeongju: Triple room (3 people per room)

   ️ Rooms will be randomly assigned by gender and only changed in emergencies.

· Capacity: 70 participants (first-come, first-served basis)



Program Highlights

 

· Industrial Site Visits: Learn about Korea’s economic growth through direct observation of key manufacturing sectors

· Cultural Tours: Experience Korea’s historical and cultural legacy in person

· Course Credit: 1 credit will be awarded for a Field Research course upon submission of a KFRS report

     Note: This credit does not count toward graduation requirements.

·  Application Period: April 7 (Mon) 00:00 – April 11 (Fri) 23:59, 2025

·  How to Apply:

1. Log in to MIS

2. Go to Training/Event > Apply for Events

3. Select Event Type: Field Trip

4. Click "2025 Korea Field Research and Study(KFRS)(May 14-16)"

         Under “Food Menu,” please indicate any dietary restrictions (e.g., halal, vegetarian) and save.

· Eligibility & Priority

     - Priority will be given to students who have not participated in previous KFRS programs.

     - If there are any remaining spots, applications from past participants will be considered.



Participation Fee Payment

 

· Monthly Stipend Recipients: Fee will be deducted from your stipend after the program

· IBK Scholars / GAS for Cambodia: No deduction (covered by scholarship)

· Non-Stipend Recipients (e.g., Sejong Global Leader, Exchange Students):

   Please transfer KRW 100,000 to the following account by April 14, 2025
