2023 Korea Field Research and Study (KFRS / May.2-4)
We are glad to announce that 2023 Korea Field Research and Study (KFRS) will take place from May 2nd (Tue.) to May 4th (Thu.) during this upcoming summer break!
Korea Field Research and Study (KFRS) is three-day field trip, which will be a great opportunity to witness the past and present of Korean development. By visiting industrial manufacturing sites, you will see the foundations of Korea's modern economy. We will also look around at some historical sites rich in Korean cultural heritage. For further information, please see the details below.
1. Event Dates: May 2 (Tue.) ~ May 4 (Thu.) — Three days and two nights
2. Application Period: Apr. 10 (Mon.), 12 am. ~ Apr. 16 (Sun.)
3. Participation Fee: KRW 100,000 (The original cost is around 500,000 KRW; however, KDIS will cover your accommodation, meals, and transportation fee.)
4. Accommodation: Hotel in Busan & Gyeongju — 2 people will be assigned to 1 room in a hotel
5. Volume of Recruitment: 80 (First come-first served basis)
* Those who did not participate in 2022 KFRS program last year(22 Fall, 23 Spring students) will be prioritized for the registration of this 2023 KFRS program, which means that the registration status is subject to change.
6. Remarks: KOICA TI, KOICA ED, IBK Scholarships are NOT eligible for this KFRS program in May (The announcement email regarding this remarks has been sent to these scholarship group students). Please DO NOT apply for this event if you belong to these scholarship groups.
1. Go to the MIS(http://mis.kdischool.ac.kr/)
2. In the menu bar on the left, click “Apply for Events” under “Training/Event”
3. Choose Field Trip for Event Type and click the “Query” button
4. Click on “2023 Korea Field Research and Study"
5. Check your “Food Menu” and write a comment on MIS if you have any food restrictions (halal, vegetarian, etc.)
6. Click the ‘Save’ button
※ Please check your status to see if you're enrolled, canceled, or waiting in the "Event Application Result" under “Training/Event”. (If someone cancels their reservation, the first person on the waiting list will take their place.)
1. Monthly stipend recipient: the participation fee will be deducted from your June stipend.
2. Not recipient*: transfer the participation fee of KRW 100,000 to the bank account below by April 16th.
* This category(those who need to transfer the participation fee to the bank account directly) includes scholarship groups as follows: Sejong Global Leader / POSCO / Exchange Students

3. Penalty: 30,000 KRW for no-show penalty (If you cancel your application through the MIS page before April 16th, there will be no penalty.)

※ Students are advised to prioritize their academic schedule and coursework over the advertised event.
This field trip offers one credit as a field research course, upon submission of a KFRS report. This credit will be shown on your official transcript under the summer term, but will not count towards your graduation requirements.
