Hungarian Economics Student Lands Job in U.S. Through NABE

Zoltan Pozsar, a Hungarian scholarship student
studying finance and economics in Korea, landed a job in the
U.S. thanks to NABE and an email strategy that opened doors.

Pozsar, who received an MBA from KDI School of Public
Policy and Management
in Seoul last year, scoured the New
York Times
, Wall Street Journal and the Internet
for the names of analysts at firms he was interested in
working for. He then tried to contact them by email,
figuring out an address by the trial and error method.

''

Berner
at Morgan Stanley and Mark Zandi at
Economy.com. Berner, a past president of NABE and a champion
of student membership, suggested that he join NABE as a
student member and utilize the association''s job bank and
networking opportunities.

Pozsar was interested in Economy.com because Dr. David
J. Behling
, a former NABE member who had been a client
of the company had recommended it as a good place to work.
Behling, one of Pozsar''s professors at the KDI School and a
director of Chohung Bank, South Korea, sent a copy of a
research paper Pozsar assisted with and a letter of
recommendation to Zandi. Zandi offered Pozsar an interview
at the company''s headquarters in West Chester, Pa.

Flies to NABE Meeting for Interview

''I flew to the NABE Annual Meeting so that I could meet
with Mark Zandi in person,'' Pozsar said. Pozsar started
working for Economy.com in January as an associate
economist. He covers the states of South Carolina and Alaska
and the recreational goods and services industry. He is a
lead analyst for South Korea and hopes to cover Hungary soon.

He also plans to attend the 2003 NABE Annual Meeting. ''I
liked last year''s meeting,'' he said. ''The presentations were
great and informative and I made a lot of contacts. But I''m
looking forward to participating in this year''s meeting as a full-time member.''

Pozsar has a bachelor''s degree in business administration
from the University of Pecs in Hungary and Middlesex
University, London. He also studied economics at American
University in Washington and Jonkoping International
Business School in Sweden. He is fluent in English, German
and Hungarian.
