Extensive scholarship opportunities are available to most students that are accepted for admissions of the KDI school

  • Global Ambassador Scholarship ("GAS")

    All scholarship benefits are primarily intended for countries named on the DAC List of ODA recipient nations, as published by the OECD. (If a country is not named on the DAC List, applicants from these countries may be conferred a partial, rather than a full scholarship.)

    How to Apply

    International applicants who meet the qualifications of KDI School’s Application Guideline can become potential candidates for GAS Scholarship and apply during KDI School’s online application period.

    • Admissions Period: Spring & Fall Admissions
      • Spring: Master’s & Ph.D. program, full- & part-time programs
      • Fall: Master’s programs only, full-time programs only
    • Benefits: Full tuition waiver and a monthly stipend for most recipients
    • Eligibility: International applicants who meet the qualifications of KDIS
    • Program Duration: Master(about 1 year, 3 semesters), Ph.D.(at least 3 years)

  • Seoul G20 Global Leaders Fellowship

    Seoul G20 Global Leaders Fellowship is awarded to a limited number of students and GAS may be offered instead.

    How to Apply

    Applicants must complete and are strongly recommended to submit an online application for Seoul G20 Global Leaders Fellowship and submit all the required documents including an employment verification letter demonstrating the eligibility as guided in KDIS Application Guideline.

    • Admissions Period: Spring & Fall Admissions
    • Benefits: Full tuition waiver, monthly stipend, round-trip airfare
    • Eligibility: Applicants must meet one of the requirements below.
      • From Non-G20 Countries: must be currently employed in the division head level (or) over 6 years of working experience in the public sector
      • From G20 Countries: must have at least 1 year of working experience in the public sector(internship, fellowship, employment, etc) (or) study/research experience in fields related to Korea (studies) will have more preference for selection
    • Program Duration: Master(about 1 year, 3 semesters)

  • NIIED Global Korea Scholarship for Graduate Degrees (GKS-G)

    This scholarship is sponsored by the NIIED (National Institute for International Education) and designed to provide higher education in Korea for international students with the aim of promoting international exchange in education and mutual friendship amongst the participating countries.

  • KOICA-KDIS Scholarship

    KOICA Scholarship Program is designed to nurture key leaders in developing countries who can contribute to the socio-economic development of their home countries.

  • Hyundai Motor Chung Mong-Koo Foundation Scholarship

    Hyundai Motor Chung Mong-Koo Foundation supports future global talents who will contribute to the mutual development of ASEAN and Korea. (Please refer to the ‘Special Scholarship(brochure)’ section for details.)

    • Admissions Period: Spring(Master/Ph.D.) & Fall Admissions(Master)
    • Benefits: Full tuition waiver, monthly stipend, round-trip airfare, and settlement support
    • Eligibility: Government officials from the eight ASEAN member states (Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia, and Lao PDR)

    This scholarship is sponsored by FSS(Financial Supervisory Service of Korea), KFB(Korea Federation of Banks), and KDI School. This aims to contribute bank authorities to the economic and social development of Asian developing countries and support the overseas expansion of domestic banks by networking and promoting cooperative relationships.     This scholarship will contribute to development in the Asia Pacific region. It will facilitate the training of qualified officers from member countries of the Colombo Plan by increasing their expertise, skill, and capacity to design and implement effective public policy.   • MIPD Scholarship

    MIPD Scholarship enables students to acquire a broader and deeper knowledge of the principles and sources of intellectual property(IP) law. The collaboration between WIPO(World Intellectual Property Organization) the Government of Korea through KIPO(Korean Intellectual Property Office) and KDI School ensures students to obtain a global perspective and professional expertise in IP and Policy Development.
